Our Youth

A Structured Path Built to Develop Discipline, Confidence, and Character for Ages 8-12.

At Tensho Boxing Academy, youth boxing isn’t about competition — it’s about structured growth.
We give students a clear path, a framework to rise through, and a system that teaches discipline, effort, accountability, and confidence.

Our program is built around the belief that kids grow best when expectations are clear, goals are visible, and accomplishments are earned. The Tensho Glove-Up System provides that foundation.

Glove-Up System

  • White Gloves — The Beginning

This is where every young boxer starts. White Gloves introduce basic stance, footwork, discipline, and gym etiquette. Kids learn how to show respect, listen, and form strong training habits.

  • Yellow Gloves — Foundations

At this level, boxers begin developing coordination, simple combinations, and defensive awareness. The focus is consistency, effort, and showing responsibility during drills.

  • Green Gloves — Developing Skills

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.

  • Blue Gloves — Intermediate Growth

Students demonstrate solid mechanics, improved conditioning, and the ability to stay focused under pressure. Green Gloves emphasizes discipline, humility, and leadership toward newer students.

  • Red Gloves — Advanced Youth Boxer

At this level, youth boxers show maturity, strong technique, awareness, and emotional control. They lead by example, train with intention, and display a deep respect for coaches and teammates.

  • Black Gloves — Youth Champion Level

Black Gloves is reserved for students who demonstrate exceptional skill, focus, discipline, and resilience. Advancement is earned through hard work alone. No shortcuts. No free trophies. Black Gloves symbolizes their growth as young leaders inside and outside the gym.

What’s Inside Our Youth Program

Discipline • Excellence • Empowerment

Pillar 1 — Discipline

Our youth program is built on teaching structure, responsibility, and focus. Every session reinforces listening skills, respect for coaches and classmates, and the importance of showing up with effort. Through the Glove-Up System, children learn how to set goals, work consistently, and understand that progress is earned—not given. Discipline becomes the foundation they carry into school, sports, and everyday life.

Pillar 2 — Excellence

We teach kids to take pride in doing things the right way. Youth learn proper boxing fundamentals, safe movement, and the value of mastering the basics before moving forward. Excellence isn’t about being perfect—it's about trying your best, practicing with intention, and improving a little more each day. As their skills grow, so does their confidence in their own potential.

Pillar 3 — Empowerment

Boxing empowers young athletes to believe in themselves. Through our structured glove progression, recognition ceremonies, and supportive coaching, kids learn that they can overcome challenges through effort and persistence. They gain self-confidence, emotional resilience, and the courage to stand tall in and out of the gym. We help youth find their voice, their strength, and their sense of belonging.

The First 12 Weeks Can Change Everything

Impact of 12-Week Boxing Training on Confidence & Self-Concept Outcomes

Chart by Rhae et al., 2024

The data speaks clearly: boxing builds people. A 12-week training program measurably improves social confidence, academic performance, physical self-belief, and focus. These aren’t just skills for the gym—they are life skills. When someone gains confidence in their body and mind, they perform better in school, at work, and in their relationships. This is why Tensho Boxing Academy focuses on growth first and boxing second.
